Frequently Asked Questions

Have a question about using the Photoshop Elements Organizer? If you can't find the answer in the book or on this site, send me your question. I'll answer personally whenever I can, and post answers to common questions.

Q: I have Photoshop Elements 2 installed. Do I need to uninstall it before I install Elements 3? Will I still have Elements 2 on my computer after I install Elements 3?

A: There's no need to uninstall. Both versions will remain on your computer when you install Elements 3.

Q: I have Photoshop Album 2 installed. What happens when I install Elements 3?

A: Your Album 2 installation remains unchanged. You existing catalogs are copied to a new folder. When you first open one of these catalogs in Elements 3, it will convert it to the new format, saving it in the new folder. Once you've made any changes in Elements 3, you can still use your Album 2 catalog, but you won't want to make changes in it because there's no way to combine the two sets of changes. In other words, once you've switched to Elements 3, you can keep running Album 2, but you probably won't want to.

Q: I've ordered prints and shared photos using Adobe Photoshop Services/Ofoto, but when I look at the photo's history (the History pane of the Properties palette) it doesn't show that I printed or shared the photo (as your book says it should). What am I doing wrong?

A: You're not doing anything wrong. The feature doesn't appear to work.
